Breakthrough Fear and Achieve your Real Estate Dreams

learn how to flip housesI am a firm believer that we are all capable of incredible things, whether it be learning how to flip houses or climbing a mountain.  I believe that someone's background, education and prior life experiences do not dictate their potential.

Everyone on this planet has the potential to learn how to flip houses and do something wonderful.  At least that's what I believe!

Often times in real estate or house flipping,  it just takes a little coaching in order to convince someone that this is true.  Someone may very well have unlimited potential-however in many cases they just don't see it.

I will be the first to admit that life can knock a person down.  Unexpected and traumatic things happen, and it is not always easy to bounce back.  Believe me, I too battled fear, doubt and worry when I first began to learn how to flip houses.

However if we take a look around at our family, friends and associates we can find countless examples of people achieving incredible success against all odds.  Of course we can also find many examples of people cashing in their chips and putting their dreams and unlimited potential on the back-burner.

This is true whether a person wants to learn how to flip houses or accomplish anything else worth working towards.

The question then is; what is it that separates these two types of people?  What mysterious force allows one person to achieve success against all odds, while another person remains "stuck" and unhappy in their current situation?

Why do some people successfully learn how to flip houses and launch the real estate career of their dreams - while other people give up after one month?

Fortunately some talented minds have, over the past century, worked tirelessly to solve this very  mystery of personal success.  One of my favorite writers, Napoleon Hill the author of Think and Grow Rich
has explained how to achieve success with unmatched eloquence and empathy.

Odds are Mr. Hill was not thinking about people hoping to learn how to flip houses when he wrote his breakthrough book Think and Grow Rich.  Yet the principles Hill wrote about can be applied to anyone hoping to learn how to flip houses or accomplish anything for that matter.

Hill has provided millions of readers with clear, direct and actionable steps you can start taking right now to achieve your house flipping and real estate investing dreams.

Auto-Suggestion Strategies to Help You Learn How to Flip Houses

I found the theory of auto-suggestion to be very beneficial when I first began to learn how to flip houses for profit.  Auto-suggestion helped me overcome the fear and doubt that was preventing me going "ALL IN" with regards to launching my house flipping career.

So what is auto-suggestion and how can YOU USE IT TODAY  to help you learn how to flip houses and overcome your fear, doubt and worry?

Well, put simply, auto-suggestion is a strategy you can use to influence your subconscious mind.  Hill claims that through your dominant thoughts, you can successfully influence your subconscious mind in either a positive or negative fashion.

I have to agree with Hill on this one, because I have directly observed how the dominant thoughts of my own mind affected my ability to learn how to flip houses.  I have also noticed that my thinking affects how I feel with regards to anything I have going on in my life-house flipping related or not.

To make things simple, the bottom line is that the thoughts you fill your mind with, have a direct impact on whether or not you will learn how to flip houses and achieve what you set out to accomplish.

As mentioned above, this could be learning how to flip houses or climbing a mountain.  It doesn't matter what you set out to accomplish-what matters is how you think about it.

So it makes sense to fill your mind with thoughts that will help you achieve your goals-wouldn't you agree?

The problem is that filling your mind with the wrong type of thoughts is incredibly easy to do.  You have to be a watchdog of sorts, and be able to quickly identify whether the dominant thoughts of your mind are helping you learn how to flip houses and achieve your goals or not.  This is a skill that can be learned only through taking action and consistent practice.

Learn How to Flip Houses | Auto-Suggestion in Action

In its simplest form, auto-suggestion is repeatedly telling yourself that you can indeed accomplish what you want to accomplish.  Part of auto-suggestion is also not allowing yourself to focus and dwell on thoughts that will prevent you from accomplishing your house flipping goals and real estate investing dreams.

For example, here is a string of thoughts that someone who continually fails to launch their house flipping career and learn how to flip houses, may be auto-suggesting to themselves.

"I just do not have the courage to learn how to flip houses for a living.  Financial freedom requires too much work.  I am safe in my current job and making a change is just too risky for me.  Even though I am unhappy with my current situation, I just don't have what it takes to overcome fear and take action."

While the exact wording may be different each time this person auto-suggests this string of thoughts, the impact is the same.  The general feeling of this string of thoughts is negative.  When this type of thinking is repeated (auto-suggested) time and time again for weeks, months and sometimes even years, the result is a person who is "stuck" unhappily in their current situation-unable to learn how to flip houses.

The good news is that the same person could use auto-suggestion to become "unstuck" and make forward progress in achieving their house flipping dreams.

For example, here is a string of thoughts that could, over time, help a person become unstuck and take action towards achieving their dreams and goals.

"Right now I am unhappy with my current situation, but that is OK because I know I am not destined to be in this situation forever.  I believe that I have what it takes to accomplish my goals and dreams, because I know I have unlimited potential.  I also have faith that if I stick with it and never give up, I will learn how to flip houses and my dreams and goals will in time come to fruition."

I would like you to pause here for a moment, and re-read both of the above strings of thoughts.

How does the first string of thoughts make you feel as you read it?  Most likely after reading that string of thoughts you feel slightly negative, perhaps even slightly depressed.

However the second string of thoughts has the exact opposite effect.  How do you feel after reading the second string of thoughts?  Odds are you feel slightly more positive, hopeful and perhaps even excited.

Now imagine you could multiply that feeling by a hundred or even a thousand.  How would that impact your ability to learn how to flip houses and achieve your dreams and goals?

Can you imagine how awful you would feel if you consistently repeated the first, negative string of thoughts to yourself day in and day out for months and months?

On the other hand, can you imagine how wonderful you would feel if you consistently repeated the second, positive string of thoughts to yourself day in and day out for months and months?

This is the foundation of auto-suggestion.  If right now you do not possess the confidence to proceed toward your dreams, then don't worry about it.  You can use auto-suggestion, over time, to create the confidence you need.

And if you currently are down in the dumps with regards to your current situation, then realize that your own habits of thought may have gotten you there.  Also realize that by simply changing your thinking, you can change your situation.

To learn how to flip houses and launch your own house flipping career, you must develop the right type of mindset.  Auto-suggestion is one highly helpful and incredibly effective method of developing the mindset that will help you achieve your dreams.

You can learn how to flip houses for a living-you just have to think and believe that you can.  Thank you Napoleon Hill!

See you at the top,

Mike

    Hi Mike,

This is another excellent article that force you to some serious reflection about the way we think and how our thinking affects our success. Actually, I’ve just bought the book Think and Grow Rich and will begin reading it right away. I have been following you and your articles for quite while and I just have to say thank you for such a job well done.

On the investment field, I’m more a Buy/Hold guy, I truly believe that is the correct path to achieve long term wealth. However, I’m always open to explore other areas including flipping. To begin with, I do recognize that it is a total different game. I’m outside on the field all the time looking for deals and you always find very good opportunities for flipping. But the most important thing is how you are going to fund a possible good flipping deal that allows you to grab it and close it quickly?

Let’s say, you find a very good opportunity to Flip and you have to act quickly. How do you fund those acquisitions? Probably now you have more access to quick funding, but let say, how a typical investor could find funds readily available to act quickly?

I do know that you have already written previously about the topic, but any fresh insight would be appreciate it.

    Regards,
    Alex

Hi Alex – Once you start reading it you will not want to put it down. Your question is one that stop’s many from ever doing a deal and I have written much about & done some video’s as well.
I use to think about that exact same thing & it will paralyze you into doing nothing.
Despite all the bad news you hear about the economy & it is bad there are a lot of people out there with money looking for a good return on their investments. Let me give you this one tip to start with and think about. Never, never, did I say never ask anyone for money to fund your potential real estate deal. You need to present an opportunity for them & if they are interested in making a nice profit which most people are then they will ask you how it works. I also agree with you on creating long term wealth as I am doing that as well. Create as much passive income now because it is a great opportunity with prices so low & being able to cash flow from day 1. Feel free to inbox me directly and let me know how you progress. If your ever interested in my online 1 on 1 coaching program just let me know. I am sold out currently as I only take on 3 students at a time but will be looking to work with 3 more in the near future.

Thanks again and I look forward to hearing what you think about Think & grow rich

    Hi Mike,

I’m so glad I found your website. You seem like the real deal to me as far as wanting to help people (as opposed to several posers I have come across who make a BIG presentation about how they just want to give back and then ask for thousands of dollars for their help). So thank you for being real. It is really a rare thing to find. About house flipping, first let me tell you that I am not even a newbie yet. I am just in the research stage about how to climb aboard this wagon train. But I am totally focused and committed to it. You and also the Bigger Pockets blog have been very helpful in disseminating information. But by and far you are my favorite source. I only found you yesterday and have already downloaded and finished the e-book you so generously put together. And I am also loving your website. I just wanted to add a couple of comments about the mindset aspect of setting and achieving goals. First of all generalities are good but visualizing specific goals in your mind is better. Also your internal dialogue and video should be of not only attaining but having already attained those specific goals so you mind has something focused to drive you toward. I find that when I actually do that for a while things start to happen. Which brings me to my next important point. As much as we may not like where we are at our subconscious mind is comfortable there. And so when we start to make progress it can and usually will throw up roadblocks to keep us where we are. I think that is why a lot of people give up. They don’t realize that that hardship that just got in your way is actually an opportunity because it is signalling that they are truly beginning to move forward and the subconscious mind doesn’t want anything to do with that. I cannot tell you how many times it has stopped me in the past. But not this time. Because as I continue to put in the mental work of positive programming excellent things like you pop up to keep me on the track forward. Lastly everything of value which I have read so far has said to get with a real estate investment group and as much as I don’t like putting myself out there I am going to do it; damn my subconscious mind. Full steam ahead.

    Hi David,

Thanks for such wonderful comments & I hope I can in a small way or a big help you achieve your goals and path to success. Feel free to email directly & tell me about where you are from & what your plans are to get going. Going to a REIA or other real estate like investing meetings is a great way to get out and expose yourself and create relationships. Make it happen in 2013!
