Do You Know The Secrets Of Real Estate Investing?

In this post I will share with you three secrets of real estate investing that you probably did not know about.

secrets of real estate investingIt all started a few years back when a movie called “The Secret” came out. Everyone was talking about it including Oprah. I poked fun at the movie because I thought it was a load of hogwash and had all this touchy-feely stuff from a crazy Aussie woman named Rhonda Byrne.

But then my wife decided to get me an audio book for the movie. Since I didn’t want her to keep bugging me about it, one day I decided to listen to it while working as a flooring installer.

It was a time when I was still deciding which direction my career should take. Working as a floor installer was lucrative but I wanted to pursue real estate investing because that’s where my passion was.

Listening to the audio helped me pursue my passion and I haven’t looked back ever since.

Mind Control Is Very Important

When coaching new students, the first thing I tell them is to use their minds to attract the things they want most in life. To achieve any sort of success in real life, you have to possess mind control.

Newbies in the house flipping business have no idea how important mind control is. When you ask any successful real estate investor if they knew how they were going to succeed,

they probably did not know at first but they knew they would somehow become successful.

This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have a solid plan in place. In fact, you should never start flipping houses without a plan; that’s a recipe for failure.

Secrets Of Real Estate Investing

1. Figure Out What You Want

Ask yourself, what is it I want to achieve? Once you have answered this question, ask for it to happen and you will be one step closer to achieving your dreams as a real estate investor.

In the movie, Byrne said that if you ask for what you want, the universe will align itself around it.

So right now, you need to get a piece of paper and write down specifically what you want and it has to be in the present tense. Write something like:

I am so successful and glad that I now make more than $150, 000 every year flipping houses as a part-time real estate investor.

2. Believe In What You Want

This next step is where you have to trick your mind into believing you can already achieve what you want. Unwavering faith is all it takes.

There’s a story of a sales man who was doing a door to door sales job miles away from home. He hadn’t made a single sale ever since he arrived at his destination. That night when he went back to his hotel room full of disappointment, he decided to call his wife.

She informed him that they had just won the lottery and they were going to be millionaires. Any normal guy would have booked the next flight home but he had one more appointment the following day and he wanted to honor it.

The next day he woke up with a lot of excitement and optimism. He made it to his appointment on time and managed to close a sale for a big commission. When he arrived home that night, he couldn’t wait to see their winning ticket.

His wife gave him the bad news that they hadn’t won the lottery; she just told him they had won because he sounded so down on the phone.

The only reason his sales were 100% real was because he changed his mind set and belief amidst all the false excitement and optimism. You too can follow his example and change your mind set.

3. Act Like You Have Received What You Want

Visualize how you would feel when you finally realize that you have become a successful real estate investor.

Don’t think about how this success will come to you though. When you start thinking about it, you will start sliding down a slippery slope of doom. Your focus is not to think about how success will come to you, that’s the universe’s job. Simply have faith that it will come to you and when it does you will be ready to receive it.

When you don’t get what you want, it’s perfectly normal to feel discouraged, frustrated or depressed. Make sure that these feelings don’t get to you by replacing them with unwavering faith.

Conclusion

To sum things up, the secrets of real estate investing are figuring out what you want, believing you will receive it and acting like you have received what you want. It sounds simple but it is not simplistic; it takes unwavering faith.

I’d love to know what you think about the secrets and feel free to add in more secrets in the comment section below.
