Flip and Grow Rich | Definiteness of Purpose

flip and grow richContrary to what many people may think, the single most important factor in house flipping success is not finding the right property...nor is it negotiating the sales price...nor is it containing your rehab costs,  nor is it avoiding "the bad deals"...

Although those are all important, the most important factor to house flipping success by far is having the right house flipping mindset.

Although "The Secret" hits on many important aspects of house flipping success, it was not the first book of its kind to discuss the importance of mindset when achieving success. In actuality, "The Secret" borrowed most of its concepts from many other books, including the ones mentioned here.

One of the greatest books I have ever read on mindset and how to flip and grow rich at the same time is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

This book hugely influenced my house flipping career - so much that I still refer back to it on regular basis to review its basic concepts to reinforce to me exactly how to flip and grow rich.

Flip and Grow Rich...With Definiteness of Purpose

In the first of what will be a series of "flip and grow rich” posts, today we will be reviewing the first step in this process and how it relates to the house flipping mindset - to set you on the path to ultimate house flipping success.

“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe...the mind can achieve”

-Napoleon Hill

It is amazing to think that anyone of us put on this earth can achieve incredible success and do amazing things just as long as we believe that we can.

Napoleon Hill crystallized this thought in what has become his most famous quote regarding personal fulfillment and achievement. And whether you are interested in real estate investing, house flipping or any other endeavor - whether it's related to real estate or not - this one statement is one of the most powerful motivational quotes ever put forth.

  • There is nothing about how smart you need to be...

All it takes is your mind to conceive of what it is that you want…then you going out and getting after it.

Fortunately for us in the house flipping field, Napoleon Hill actually made a series of short pieces of footage in the early 1960s on this concept based upon his book "Think and Grow Rich", check it our here where he explains "definiteness of purpose":

The Three Step Flip and Grow Rich Formula

“You have the power to take your own mind and direct it any way you want”

-Andrew Carnegie

Whatever your mind dwells on is what you will get. This is how you flip and grow rich.

Hill advocates to simply figure out what you want, write it down on a piece of paper and DECIDE today what it is what you want.

The Flip and Grow Rich Formula:

1. Take out a notebook, on page one, write out your ONE major desire in life.

Your only limitations are the ones you set in your mind.

2. State what you intend to GIVE in order to get what you want in life.

Decide right then what you intend on giving.

3. Memorize both of your statements above. And repeat them at least a dozen times only and say at the end of the day:

“I ask not for more riches, but more wisdom to use wisely the riches I received at birth in the power to direct and control my life to whatever I desire”

So...What Do YOU Really Want?

So what is it that you want? Write it down right now.

Then state what you intend to give.

Then memorize it and show gratitude for the wisdom you know have received.

That is the first step on how to flip and grow rich…

Awesome! 1st time I’ve seen a clip of Nepolean Hill talking about this. I’m hungry for more.

      Hi Terry,
Thanks for noticing. Think and grow rich is one of my favorite books.
It’s not always easy to do but I have to tell you the longer you practice the more it becomes reality. See you at the next Reia meeting.
